Some diet types gain more popularity that other and Atkins diet is considered as one of the most popular diet that people follow. This diet was introduced by Robert Atkins in the late of 20th century and early 21st century. Main focus of this diet is to eat food that has low carbohydrate amount and consume higher proportion of proteins.

Pro and Cons about Atkins Diet

Some people agree and others are disagreed with this kind of diet. Those who agree said that this diet work perfectly well to help people lose weight. It also help human bodies to control insulin level, which will allow our bodies to burn as much as energy as possible.

Atkins diet also consists of high protein intake as the main source of energy and not relying solemnly on carbohydrate. While this approach may work well in order to lose weight, some people argue that this diet with its low carbohydrate intake may poses health risk especially when people doing it in long term.

People may want to reconsider following Atkins diet in long term, and instead focusing on healthy and balanced diet that will help them not only to lose those extra pound but also keeping people healthy.
